The name
HAKU — white, pure, free
In Japanese, 白 (Haku) means "white" and evokes purity, mystery, the spirits of water. A name made famous by the character Haku in Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away — river dragon, guardian of the seas.
In Maori, haku means the chief, the master. In Hawaiian, it evokes the art of composing and weaving — just as one weaves itineraries on the chart, cove after cove.
White, pure, free. Like the Mediterranean under the July sun.

The Amel 50 is the masterpiece of the Amel shipyard in La Rochelle — one of the most respected bluewater builders in the world. Designed by naval architect Berret-Racoupeau, HAKU is hull #31 of the line, built in 2020 with all the refinements of the second series.
Sloop-rigged, the Amel 50 is the first truly automated production yacht: reversible electric furlers and winches let you trim, unfurl and reef without ever leaving the helm. With its protective hard-top cockpit, it's the ideal cruiser for the Mediterranean with 4 to 6 guests — in absolute comfort and total safety.
